Organisatie : Gemeenschapscentrum Hof Ten Hemelrijk
Rusland, omstreeks 1850. Elke vrijdagavond, even na acht uur, betraden muzikanten en geïnteresseerden de salons van een gigantisch herenhuis in een chique wijk van St. Petersburg. De gastheer is een steenrijke houthandelaar (amateur violist) met een grote passie voor muziek : Mitrofan Belaïev. Wekelijks inviteerde hij een bont gezelschap muziekliefhebbers om te componeren en te musiceren.
Het Ensor kwartet brengt deze avonden terug tot leven, samen met Jan Decleir, die instaat voor de roddels en de mooie woorden. Ze vinden elkaar in de liefde voor deze muziek en de periode waarin ze ontstaan is. In Rusland broeit van alles: sociaal, politiek en cultureel. Dat leverde ontroerende en bijzonder grappige kunstwerken op. Jan Decleir leest voor uit het stadsverhaal de « Nevski Prospect » (één van de bekendste straten uit St-Petersburg) van N. Gogol, een verhaal dat deze sfeer ademt. Hij maakt er met de gerenommeerde muzikanten van het Ensor strijkkwartet een nieuw verhaal van.
