The introductions to the romances in English by Irina Rubinstein, his wife and producer.
Alexander Prokhorov is known as Master of Russian & Gypsy Romances. He is a connoisseur of well-known as well as rare and forgotten romances which he performs with his own improvised piano accompaniment. His deep bass-baritone immediately captivates and brings forth the melodic beauty of the romances along with their drama and excitement to the audience. Hi performed at Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall of the New
England Conservatory, Emerson/Cutler Majestic Theater, in Moscow and St. Petersburg's Philharmonic Halls. His concert tours always include the annual Concert of Russian and Gypsy Romances at A.Tolstoy's Museum in Moscow that the artist dedicates to his famous great-grandfather Aleksey Tolstoy.
Александр Прохоров известен как исполнитель русских и цыганских романсов. Он знаток и коллекционер известных, а также редких и забытых романсов, которые он исполняет с собственным импровизированным сопровождением фортепиано. Глубокий бас-баритон артиста сразу завораживает, подчеркдвая мелодичную красоту романсов и их драматизм, не оставляя зрителей равнодушными.
Артист выступал на таких сценам как Карнеги-холл, Бостонский Симфонический зал, зал Консерватории Новой Англии иТеатр Эмерсона/Катлера Маджестик, в залах филармоний Москвы и Санкт-Петербурга. Романсы остаются его любимым жанром и его концертные туры всегда включают ежегодный Вечер русских и цыганских романсов в Музее А.Толстого в Москве, который артист посвящает своему знаменитому прадедушке Алексею Толстому.
