We invite you to the opening of the historical documentary exhibition « 1939 : Beginning of the Second World War ».
The exposition covers the period from the liquidation of Czechoslovakia as a sovereign state in March of 1939, Germany’s increasing influence over Central and South-Eastern Europe to the deepening of the global political crisis in the summer of 1939 and the German attack on Poland on September 1, 1939.
The material collected describes the events leading to large-scale global conflict, allowing us to understand the reason for the failure to create a broad anti-Hitler coalition including the USSR, and also the logic of the actions of Soviet leadership in that international situation.
The exhibition was prepared with the Russian Embassy in Belgium.
